Island Pag - climate

Pag Island is underneath Mount Velebit which is why it has a flow of fresh and clean continental air throughout the whole year. The sun warms the air creating a pleasant Mediterranean temperature – average temperature in the summer is 28 degrees and 10 degrees in the winter. For more than 140 days per year the temperature is over 18 degrees. A pleasant mild maestrale blows during the summer months, while a dry and cold wind called Bura blows in the winter. The average sea temperature in the summer is 24 degrees (26 in the cove of Pag) and 12 degrees during the winter. The swimming season in Pag lasts 120 days per year on the average and the sea temperature in that period is above 18 degrees. Pag is known as one of the sunniest islands of the Adriatic as it has more than 2 500 sunny hours per year.
